The Importance of a Great Faculty - Why Teachers Shape the Entire School

In this episode, Dr. G shares one of the core convictions that shaped his decade as Academic Dean: great faculty are the heartbeat of a great Bible school. Buildings, programs, and organizational systems matter — but none of them compare to the impact of a gifted, Bible-loving teacher standing in front of students. As he puts it, “The best students will go to a barn if the best teachers are in the barn.” This belief shaped everything about his leadership. When recruiting new faculty, Dr. G made it clear: they weren’t being hired to fill a slot or check a box. They were the frontline of Multnomah’s mission — the ones who taught Scripture, shepherded students, and carried out the purpose for which the school existed. Without great teachers, nothing else mattered. Because of this, he poured his time and energy into finding future great faculty — men and women who loved students, loved the Bible, and were clearly gifted by God to teach. This video offers a window into the philosophy that helped shape Multnomah’s culture and contributed to its long-standing reputation for excellent biblical instruction.
