Q&A A New Bible College

Hope Beyond the Ending

In this episode, Dr. G reflects on whether something new might one day rise from the closing of Multnomah School of the Bible. Drawing from his experience in Portland’s vibrant church culture, he notes that endings are often followed by new beginnings — sometimes unexpected, sometimes reimagined for a new season.

Rather than simply recreating the past, Dr. G talks about the importance of discerning the best parts of the Multnomah model and asking how those strengths might be reproduced in ways that make sense amid changing cultural realities and financial constraints. He expresses confidence that God continues to stir hearts, especially among those whose lives were shaped by what Multnomah represented.

While much of his remaining energy is focused on building theological education in Rwanda, Dr. G makes clear that he is still cheering on those who are dreaming, praying, and collaborating about what a future Bible school in the Pacific Northwest could look like. If God brings the right people together, he believes something faithful and meaningful can grow again.
